The Ice Cream Association (TICA) has recognized TransCold CEO John Coughlan with a Doctorate of Ice Cream at the 2025 Ice Cream Summit & Expo. This award recognizes TICA members who have made significant contributions to TICA and the ice cream industry through key areas including innovation, leadership, and education.
John began in the ice cream industry in the late 80’s, leading both an 8-bike Dickie Dee venture and a regional mobile vending distribution channel, appropriately named The Ice Cream Man. He partnered with Unilever in 1999, forming TransCold 3 years later to distribute ice cream and frozen goods across Western Canada. John has advocated for collaboration between industry members to elevate industry standards and share best practices, connecting more manufacturers to retailers and consumers in the process.
